Payment modes

If you want to make payments within the due date, then here are some suggestions which might help you: 1. Mail payments: The most common way to make payment is through the mail. This is a mode of payment in which we write a check, and mail it across to the mailing address of the bank. This is a very effective way to make payments, but you will have to make sure that you are mailing the check at least 10 business days prior to the due date. This is done so that the late payment charges can be avoided. The mail takes about 5 to 6 business days to reach the destination, and then the check is produced to your bank for clearing. This may again take up to 3 business days. So, it will be wise to send the mail 10 business days prior to the due date. 2. The second option can be payment online. For making a payment online, you will need to have a checking account, and an online registration ID and password with the particular bank’s web site. You do not need to pay anything extra, and the payment is posted in you’re a/c within 2 business days. I personally would suggest this method as the best method to make payments, as you do not need to take a lot of pain to go through this, it’s faster than the mailed payments, and you do not pay anything extra. 3. The third option might be Western Union Money Transfer. In this process, you need to go to a western union outlet, and pay them, sometimes with some extra charges, and they in turn pay to the bank within 2 business days. This is more effective if you are traveling overseas, but it is usually not an option that is often recommended. 4. Rush payment: This is an online payment method, where if you schedule the payment today, the payment will be posted in the a/c on the same day. However, for this payment, the banks are likely to charge you a one time fee of about $10 to $20 for each transaction. So, if you have some time in hand, then this method is usually not recommended. This can be kept as a last resort. There are other methods as well, but they are usually not used as they are not convenient to people.
